Business functions

With our business continuing to grow rapidly, we need people with sound leadership skills to take us into the future. The EGP exposes you to every side of Wolseley and will cover customer-focused roles such as sales and marketing as well as many other functions. These could include business management, finance and accounting, human resources, supply chain and logistics, purchasing and sourcing, and information systems.

On-the-job training

Right from the beginning, you'll be an important member of the Wolseley team with tasks and responsibilities that impact the day-to-day running of our business. You'll go on assignments and also be involved with projects that you own. And we'll encourage you all the way. We believe in promotion from within and advancement on merit. Where you advance to will reflect your interests and our assessment of your ability.

Practical experience

The EGP really gets you close to the business. Wolseley is a building materials business with warehouses, counters and showrooms – and the EGP is not just about theory. You'll learn about different products, why we stock them and how they meet the needs of our many different customers. In short, you'll learn everything there is to know about our business, from how to drive a fork lift to how to direct business strategy.

At Wolseley, we are building a future as a truly global business with a very strong European presence. From the UK and Ireland to France, Austria and Hungary, we have a growing presence in 21 countries across the continent. We also have extensive operations in North America.

The EGP is a selective programme. Where other companies seek to hire hundreds if not thousands of graduates, we are looking to take on a maximum of 30 for the EGP.
